CdA Bible Church members on mission

Compiled by Jeannie E. Nordstrom

Coeur d'Alene Bible Church reports that two of its members, Lisa Meyer and her daughter, Samra, recently left Coeur d'Alene for a two- year missionary journey to Kampala, Uganda, in East Africa, with the Rafiki Foundation.

The Meyers have sent word to the church that they are both healthy and safe. They moved into a home of their own, in a shared compound area with three other single women from the foundation.

While the Rafiki Children's Center is being built, Lisa is working as a landscaper and gardener until the center is completed. She will then teach children physical fitness and health maintenance. She also is leading a Bible study group of 12 Ugandan women.

The Meyers ask for prayer for continued health and safety and for additional leaders for the children's and women's weekly Bible studies. Although Lisa attended two weeks of survival camp training to prepare, she requests prayer for their quick adjustment to their lifestyle changes.

Lisa also wrote to the church that she and her daughter are grateful for the inexpensive variety of locally grown foods.

Coeur d'Alene Bible Church is throwing a farewell party for Pastor Kelly Rosenthal and his wife, Gabriela, at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, 5350 N. Fourth St.

Pastor Rosenthal accepted a ministry position in California. The church is preparing to send them off in style and requests that anyone with a humorous story or a special memory be prepared to share it during the party.
