Asia Pacific Resources - Private Placement Financing Completed

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1995--ASIA PACIFIC RESOURCES (TSE, VSE: APQ) Further to the News Release dated March 31, 1995, Asia Pacific Resources Ltd. confirms completion of a private placement financing in the amount of $15.6 million, and receipt of funds.

Funds will be allocated to continuing development of the Udon Thani potash project in northeast Thailand where some 250 million tonnes of high grade sylvinite has been identified at the company's initial potash discovery. The company proposes to commence a detailed study in this area to examine the technical and economic feasibility of a large-scale potash mine.

Additionally, concurrently with this study, the company will conduct ongoing exploration and reconnaissance programs to assess the full potential of the large (2,333 sq. kms) potash concession area controlled by Asia Pacific Potash Corp.
