Juanita Eckhart

BURLINGAME -- Juanita M. Eckhart, 78, Carbondale, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at a Topeka hospital.

She was born May 24, 1921, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Everett C. and Daisy M. Campbell Andrews.

She was a member of Wakarusa Presbyterian Church and member and past treasurer of the Presbyterian Women at the church.

She married John H. Mathern in 1938. They were divorced. She married Adrian C. "Eck" Eckhart on Sept. 14, 1945. He died July 13, 1994.

Survivors include four sons, Gregory G. Eckhart, Carbondale, Glenn R. Eckhart, Wakarusa, Gene D. Mathern, Lone Pine, Calif., and Raymond J. Mathern, Arlington, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Wakarusa Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Shawnee Center Cemetery in Wakarusa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Carey Funeral Home in Burlingame.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wakarusa Presbyterian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
