Motorcycling: His-lap breaks record
JOHN BROWNVETERAN Steve Hislop is firmly on course to win his first British title in eight years after setting the fastest ever bike lap at Donington Park.
He scooped pole position for today's final round of the MCN British Superbike championship.
The 40-year-old Isle of Man-based Scot powered his Monster Mob Ducati round the 2.5 mile Leicestershire circuit at a staggering 98.40mph during qualifying to better Valentino Rossi's official lap record by just over a tenth of a second.
