Word of the week: Dhow
An Arab sailing vessel, usually about 10 metres in length and found along the coasts of the Indian Ocean. This week a significantly smaller one was making waves at the Old Bailey, when former royal butler Harold Brown went on trial charged with stealing a jewel- encrusted dhow that once belonged to Princess Diana. The trial promptly did 'a Burrell' and collapsed before the former royal aide could make any embarrassing revelations. Brown sold the (pounds) 500,000 dhow for a mere (pounds) 1,200, proving that his taste in lawyers is better than his business acumen.
