First word
Jane WrightIWAS distressed to read this week that Rangers heart-throb Lorenzo Amoruso almost developed a serious drink problem through an injury sustained on the pitch. Until I read that the evil tipple in question was, erm, Baileys. I do like a man in touch with his feminine side, although perhaps he should have taken up that lovely almondy/ marzipan liqueur and then we could call him Lorenzo Amaretto. But of course we're glad to hear he's off the wicked Irish cream, otherwise Christmas could be a real nightmare.
We make a gentle nod to the festive season this week by looking at the best sherry in the shops and over the next few weeks will bring you Yuletide food and drink from around the world.
This week our main squeeze is the beautiful, talented Halle Berry. And unless you've been hibernating, you cannot fail to notice the attention her famed 'homage' scene to Ursula Andress has been getting in the press. Hurrah for hot Bond babes in their 30s I say. You can read Halle's rollercoaster story on page 6.
Elsewhere you'll find a top shaggy dog story - the thrill that is husky racing - and a celebration of the seven-inch single. Remember them?
