Woz on the telly: Bring on the rabbi
John KellyPHOENIX Nights (C4 Thursday) is one of those rare Channel 4 programmes.
Rare as in it's funny and good!
Based in a Bolton nightclub that's being revamped by a cheapskate owner, and which boasts a Tony Knowles Suite after the town's legendary snooker star, this week they were in danger of being upstaged by rival club The Banana Grove.
As the barman declared "Banana Grove's booked that Jewish tribute act Rabbi Williams, he's good him".
A lot of the humour was visual and doesn't translate well into the written word.
A the same time, Peter Kay's writing is slick, and basically the suggestion is do not miss it.
