Football: O'Flynnis Prem target
ROBERT REIDLIMERICK striker Stephen O'Flynn has revealed that he is being hotly pursued by four Premier Division clubs: Cork, Longford, St Pat's and Dublin City.
The race is on for the 21-year-old forward's signature after Limerick's defeat in the play-off semi-final to Derry this month.
Mallow-born O'Flynn, a former Wimbledon trainee, spent a season at Turner's Cross after being released by the Dons but failed to find favour with ex-Cork boss Liam Murphy, who is still at the club.
O'Flynn finished the season as Limerick's leading marksman with 15 goals and caught the eye of Cork manager Pat Dolan and St Pat's chief Eamonn Collins in the play-off against Candystripes at Pike Rovers' ground.
Longford's Alan Matthews and DC's John Gill have since entered the contest for the striker's services.
O'Flynn said: "I spoke to Pat Dolan and he wants to talk to me. Alan Matthews also wants to speak to me, as do Dublin City, and I'm meeting with Eamonn Collins this weekend.
"Ideally, I'd love to stay with Limerick. If an investor came and pumped money into the club it'd take a lot to persuade me to move.
"All the attention is flattering but, with respect, I am keeping my options open."
