Football: Kit says he's fit for the job
SIMON JOHNSONKIT SYMONS insisted he should still be given the Palace job full- time despite seeing his side lose a much-needed three points 90 seconds into injury time.
Palace looked set for just their second home win since August when Rob Edwards, who is on loan from Aston Villa, scored on his home debut after nine minutes.
But Coventry substitute Johnnie Jackson copied Edwards by scoring on his debut at the death, having joined on loan from Tottenham last week.
Symons said: "I am very keen to do it and convinced that I can. But I am very disappointed that we didn't beat Coventry. We had the majority of the possession and the chances, but we sat back in the second half and invited them on."
Edwards showed his Premiership quality on nine minutes when he rose at the back post to head in Tommy Black's corner.
But Jackson made no mistake in injury time when he drilled the ball home at the back post after being found by a Craig Pead cross.
