Food: lightly-grilled celeb
Elizabeth StephensonWhat were your favourite sweets as a child?
Wagon Wheels. You couldn't really get them in Ireland, so when we got our hands on them they were like strange, exotic food.
Have you ever had
to eat anything for a performance?
On Big Bad World there were lots of eating scenes. There was one director I hated so I'd swap the pretend Ribena-wine for the real thing. At the end of the day I was so smashed nothing he did could annoy me.
When was the last time you drank champagne?
At the My Hero wrap party a few weeks ago. We were very uncouth and drank
it straight out of
the bottle.
What's the best thing about
Irish food?
You're taking the
piss aren't you? Irish cuisine's an oxymoron. Like fun run.
Is there anything you hate?
Celery. It's vile and I'm convinced I would die if I had to taste it again - or at least be in a coma for a while.
What's your take away of choice?
A really hot Indian that burns the back of my throat.
What is your favourite place to eat out?
The ferry from Dublin to Holyhead.
If you have visitors what's your standby meal?
Spaghetti
with garlic, olives, tomatoes and some anchovies that have been in the cupboard since 1977.
But what's the oldest thing in your cupboard?
Porridge Oats. I don't eat it so there's no reason for it to be there - other than to use it as cheap confetti.
My Hero is on BBC1,
on Fridays at 8.30pm
