Bullock beat by Bully Wee three
Anthony BrownClyde 3-0 Ross County Keogh 22, 35, Millen 67
CLYDE were tremendous as they outclassed a dismal Ross County at Broadwood yesterday. Two first-half goals from Pat Keogh set up the victory, with the sole surprise being that they could muster only one more - an Andy Millen strike - in the second.
County threatened after three minutes, but Steven Ferguson saw his low 30-yard drive go just wide. At the other end, Clyde, who gave former Livingston winner David Hagan his debut, saw their trialist defender Alan Kernathan almost scoring a lucky goal when County keeper Tony Bullock could only punch a free-kick as far as Brian McPhee. But the on-loan Livingston striker hooked his effort narrowly over.
Clyde looked the livelier team, with Keogh unlucky to see a cheeky back heel from close range go straight at Bullock after 15 minutes. The Dingwall side came close two minutes later, but Stevie Headlops header from Karri Boukraa's cross was well held by Kevin Eudinauckas.
The Bully Wee always looked more likely to score and the breakthrough arrived after 22 minutes. Keogh was on hand to prod the ball in from six-yards out, after Jack Ross whipped in a low cross from the left.
They should have doubled their lead on the half-hour when Ross released McPhee on goal, but he shot over with only Bullock to beat. The home fans were only kept waiting five minutes until McPhee raced down the right, delivered a perfect low cross, and Keogh nipped in ahead of Bullock.
Clyde went close again after the break when Jamie Mitchell headed over from Hagan's cross.
Keogh almost scored a third in 61 minutes when County defender Sean Webb blasted a clearance against him. But the ball flew just past, to the relief of the disarranged visiting defence. County should have pulled one back in 65 minutes, but Alex Bone missed his kick in front of goal.
In 67 minutes, Millen blasted in the third at the second attempt, after his initial header was superbly parried by Bullock. McPhee almost added a fourth with seven minutes left, but his curling effort from 20-yards was tipped away by Bullock.
