CAN our tennis non- entities get any worse?

Just a week into the championships and we're left with the pathetic prospect of one home-grown player in the tournament.

Poor old Timmy 'I'll get to the semi-finals and then blow it' Henman now carries the weight and expectations of the nation on his shoulders after another woeful showing from our boys and girls.

Not one of our ladies made it past the first round for the first time in Wimbledon history.

But, girls, every cloud has a silver lining and with all that hard- earned prize money you'll be able to take yourselves up the West End and get on with the more important things in life...shopping!
