Parents may spank their children - Worth Noting - Brief Article
Karen Ann Gajewski* In a six-to-two decision in January 2004, the Canadian Supreme Court ruled that parents may spank their children. The ruling in a case, which challenged a section of Canada's criminal code, establishes guidelines as to what the courts will consider "appropriate." It said parents must not hit children under two years of age or over twelve, no objects may be used for punishment, and youngsters can't be hit on the head.
