YOUR SAY: Racism is an illness
R WILSONI AM disgusted that non-national doctors in the Irish medical system are experiencing racism.
These people are qualified professionals who deserve our respect.
Their contribution to Irish hospitals is invaluable and as an Irish citizen I am ashamed that they experience racism in this country while trying to do their job.
I was shocked to discover that Dr Vivek Yadav has been forced to move with his family over to England because he lost his job in Ireland.
It is hard to believe that this doctor has spent ten years as a temporary consultant and was unable to obtain a permanent position.
In this multi-cutural world the treatment such non-Eu doctors are getting is simply not acceptable.
Minister for Health Michael Martin really has to address this situation before it gets any worse.
