I AM shocked to read of the continuing and worsening famine in Ethiopia.

Eleven million people are in danger of starvation - more than were at risk during the 1984 famine which sparked Bob Geldof's selfless Band Aid appeal.

To think that such hunger can happen in this day and age of food mountains and mass production is just plain unbelievable.

Starting this week I have a donation being sent to Goal monthly via direct debit.

I realise it's not a lot, but if everyone gives a little it will make a big difference - we can stop people dying...
