FROM Planman to the Plantsman...BBC2's new Friday foray into the ratings-rich, well- manured pasture that is TV gardening.

It's fronted by a diamond geezer called Chris Collins. I've met him a couple of times out and about and I'm telling you he's sound.

His new show had its moments but you got precious little flavour of what Chris is about. Flowers!

For maximum growth I suggest they cut all the "street" jargon in the script right back to the roots. They should then thin out the new shoots as and when they appear so each can develop nicely, giving Chris Collins a chance to blossom.
