I AGREE with Robin Cook that war should only ever be a last resort.

The UN inspectors were not given time to finish their job in Iraq before Britain and America rushed into war.

Now we can only hope it will be over quickly and successfully. We want all our remaining troops back safe as soon as possible and we want the deaths of innocent civilians in Iraq to be minimal.

The people of Iraq, like teenager Thuraya el-Kaissi you featured last week, don't deserve to have Saddam as their ruler, but they don't deserve to be bombed either.
