Soldiers will help seniors, others with yule shopping
The GazetteSome senior citizens and people with physical and mental disabilities will get help from Fort Carson soldiers for their holiday shopping.
About 32 soldiers from the Regimental Headquarters of the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment plan to act as holiday helpers Tuesday at Target on East Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard.
The soldiers will push people in wheelchairs through the store and help with gift selection, carrying and wrapping.
County commissioners and employees with the County Clerk's Office also are expected to help shoppers Tuesday.
This is the fifth year Fort Carson soldiers have teamed with Target for the community project "Holiday Happening." Target will offer the shoppers a 10 percent discount.
