Northwest Harvest presents `Judgment'

Compiled by Jeannie E. Nordstrom

An evangelistic adventure/drama movie "Judgment: The Trial of Commander Kellie" will premiere at 7 p.m. June 15 and 16 at Northwest Harvest Church in Post Falls.

The film is based on the Bible verse Revelation 12:11 - "They overcame him (the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." It was produced by Eagle Mountain Films.

"Judgment" describes how all people have been accused by the enemy but have redemption through Jesus sacrificing himself on the cross. It's the fourth movie for youth featuring Commander Kellie and the Superkids. The others: "The Intruder," "Armor of Light," and "The Sword," were very successful in the Christian market, Eagle Mountain Films said in a news release.

The church is located at 16th and Syringa in Post Falls. To attend, call (208) 457-1782.

The youths of Coeur d'Alene Bible Church will hold a parking lot sale to raise money for their mission trip to Ensenada, Mexico, June 23 to June 30. They are collecting donations for the sale and asking people to leave their items at the church this week or to call the church to make arrangements for a pick up.

Their next fund-raiser will be a car wash at Runge Furniture on June 16.

During the trip, Brad Hanson, Jesse Suitter, Matt Allen, Joseph Henderson, Ben Schenkenberger, Amy Johnson, Megan Myhre, Anna and Kelly O'Neal, Stephanie Orlando, Pearla Ployhar, Jamie Perkins, Hannah Vetsch, Shastina Cross and Alaina Zurfluh will be working with Azusa Pacific University teaching vacation Bible school and helping the local church in Ensenada.

All proceeds from the 15th Annual Lutherhaven Open Golf Tournament Fore the Kids help send youth to summer camp at either Lutherhaven or the Shoshone Base Camp. The fund-raiser includes a four-person scramble, a putting contest, prizes, food, auction items, a chance at winning either a truck or $25,000 cash prize, a special drawing, a traveling team trophy and an awards presentation. Tee time is 10:30 a.m. June 23 at The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course. The event is sponsored by Aid Association for Lutherans and AAL's Scott Schuldt Agency.

Registration is $55, or, for members of the golf course, $37. Dinner alone is $11. The deadline is June 15. Forms are available by calling the Inland Northwest Lutheran Outdoor Ministries at (208) 667- 3459.

Holy Family Catholic School celebrated five years of operation recently during a special community Mass held at St. Thomas Catholic Church.

The school started in 1996, 25 years after the last Catholic school in the area closed.

The Rev. George Rassley officiated the liturgy at the historic church.

Although the school has struggled to raise money and accepted no financial support from the Catholic diocese or local parishes, its financial plan is being used as a base for another Catholic school. The other school is scheduled to open in Meridian, Idaho, according to Karen Durgin, principal of Holy Family Catholic School.

The Infant Center at Christ the King Lutheran Church opened Friday. Infants from six weeks to 2 years old are accepted at the center. Children 2 to 6 years old may attend the church's Child Development Center for children up to 6 years old.

The church needs caregivers in both centers. Call Tami Scott at 765-2536 for more information. The work schedule is 1 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Apply (if 19 or older) in the church office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
