In "The Emotional Roots of Back Pain" [November], I was shocked to see that you didn't include acupuncture in your list of five proven therapies to treat pain. I am convinced that this healing modality is the major factor keeping me out of the hands of the surgeon. The best news is that my consulting surgeon and my rheumatologist agree with this approach.
