An Open University-led survey often EU member states shows that some governments were never convinced that all the potential adverse effects of genetically modified (GM) crops had been satisfactorily considered. The research found that this attitude was particularly evident in France and the UK -- the two countries that most frequently recommended approval of GM crops submitted for market release.
