Food: lightly-grilled

Elizabeth Stephenson

MATTHEW MARSDEN THE HUNKY STAR OF BLACK HAWK DOWN HATES HIS VEGGIES AND SAYS IT'S SUSHI AND CHICKEN KORMA THAT FLOAT HIS BOAT

What were your favourite sweets as a child?

Boiled hard sweets, like pink satin pillows, and Mars bars.

And now?

Milky Bar chews and fingers of fudge. I've got a really sweet tooth.

When and how do you drink champagne?

I try not to drink it because I like it too much and it gets me head drunk - never a good idea. I prefer red wine.

What's your most romantic memory of food?

I'm filming Helen of Troy in Malta at the moment and I took someone out for a meal. It was the most amazing candlelit dinner - great food, great wine, fireworks going off in the background.

Have you ever had anything eaten off your body?

I've sat and eaten Skittles off my chest watching the footie if that counts. And I've eaten off someone else's body. What was it? Use your imagination!

Is there any food you really hate?

Brussel sprouts. They're disgusting. And swede comes second. Revolting.

What's your worst culinary disaster?

All of them. I'm a dreadful cook. I just want it finished so I can eat it.

What's your favourite place to eat out?

Quo Vadis in London but I'm also a big sushi fan so Nobu is pretty fantastic, or Yo! Sushi. What's your takeaway of choice?

There's nothing like a Friday night Chicken Korma at home in West Bromwich.
