SINGER SNUBS FATHER

POP star Anastacia has taken legal action against the father she hasn't seen for 13 years to stop him contacting her.

Bob Newark, 65, only found out earlier this year that the singer was in fact his daughter Stacey.

He lost contact with her and his other children, Shawn and Brian, after his marriage to their mother Diana collapsed.

When he realised who Anastacia, 33, was he immediately tried to phone her in the hope of a reconciliation.

But she refused to answer his calls and a letter he wrote to her. And now lawyers for the New York-based star have sent him a "cease and desist" ultimatum threatening to take him to court if he continues to attempt to make contact with her.

Last night distraught Bob, who lives in St Louis, Missouri, with second wife Suzi, said: "She thinks I am only interested in her now because she is rich and famous, but all I have ever wanted is to get to know her again. I don't want her money."
