Russia's Industrial Production to Grow 7 Percent in H1

The Russian Economic Development and Trade Ministry forecasts that industrial production in the country will grow 7 percent in the first half of 2004. This forecast is contained in a report on the economic situation in the country in January-May.

Growth in industrial production in January-September is forecast at 6.4 percent year-on-year and for the entire year - 6.3 percent.

The largest growth in production is expected in machine building: 13.9 percent in January-June, 12.4 percent in January-September and 11 percent for the year. - (EMEconomy.com)
