WSU honors area engineering students
Compiled by Cheri RobelThe following Washington State University College of Engineering and Architecture students were awarded scholarship and awards:
Architecture
Kelly M. Curry was named outstanding junior in construction management for the 1999-2000 school year.
Curry is the daughter of Theresa Curry and is a 1997 Mead High School graduate.
Chemical Engineering
Christopher M. Fischer was named outstanding senior in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
Fischer is the son of Cozette and Michael Fischer and is a 1995 graduate of East Valley High School. He is a member of the Golden Key and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies.
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Sergey L. Napelenok was named outstanding senior in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for 1999-2000.
The 1996 Pullman High School graduate is the son of Zoya Napelenok, Pullman, and Leonid Napelenok, Vancouver, Wash.
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
Joel F. Mansfield was selected as the outstanding senior in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science's Electrical Engineering Program for the 1999-2000 school year. He is the son of Jeie and Fred Mansfield. The 1991 University High School graduate currently is employed by Agilent Technologies in Spokane.
School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering
Joel B. LeBret was selected as the outstanding sophomore in the Material Science Engineering program for the 1999-2000 school year.
LeBret, a 1998 North Central High School graduate, is a Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity pledge. He is the son of Lynne and George LeBret.
