MCI Surpasses 2 Million Customers - Brief Article

MCI, a unit of bankrupt telecom giant WorldCom, has more than 2 million subscribers of its combined local and long-distance telephone services. The unit has signed up more than 1 million customers nationwide from its new "The Neighborhood" plan, which includes unlimited local and domestic long-distance calls for between $49.99 and $59.99 a month. MCI said it is on track to reaching its goal of having nearly 3 million combined local and long-distance customers by this year's end.
