Workhorse Custom Chassis plans to introduce a higher gvwr chassis for the RV industry The new 18,000- to 21,500-pound chassis will utilize a newly designed GM powertrain and a wider wheel track. The chassis is expected to go on sale in the year 2000.

The Department of Transportation announced that manufacturers must use an upgraded standard design for the mandatory rollover warning label in sport-utility vehicles, featuring bright, colorful graphics, so that the label is more easily noticeable to the driver than the current 20-year-old text-only design. The new label must be placed on either the sunvisor or the driverside window.
