FEDERAL AGENCIES UNVEIL A NEW RECREATION WEB PAGE. The inter-agency Web site (www.recreation.go) offers one-stop shopping for information about recreational opportunities on public lands.

SEN. FRANK MURAKOWSKI (R-ALASKA) is pressing for an 80-mile road along Denali National Park's north rim to create a 170-mile loop through the park that would be open to vehicles.

A NATIONAL PRISONER OF WAR MUSEUM opened at the Andersonville National Historic Site near Plains, Georgia, to honor 800,000 prisoners from the Revolution to the Persian Gulf wars.

WATER IN THE SOUTH ARM OF THE GREAT SALT LAKE is becoming increasingly fresh, having an adverse effect on the brine shrimp industry. Options are being studied for increasing the flow of water between the south and north arms of the lake, which are divided by the Union Pacific railroad causeway.
