SEX-MAD AMY TO FACE CANADA SCHOOLS BAN

SHAMED teacher Amy Gehring, who was cleared of having under-age sex with two schoolboys, is to face disciplinary charges in her native Canada.

Gehring, 26, faces seven allegations of misconduct by the Ontario College of Teachers relating to her behaviour in Britain.

If found guilty, she could be banned from the classroom in Canada. Gehring was cleared in February of indecently assaulting under-age brothers, aged 14 and 15, in her class at a Surrey school while working as a supply teacher.

The biology teacher later admitted having slept with a 16-year- old pupil at a previous school and confessed she was too drunk to remember if she had had sex with a 15-year-old boy in a toilet. She was also cleared of having sex with the 14-year-old brother of the boy in an alleyway.

During the trial, she admitted to having taken the morning-after pill following a party after being told she might have had sex with one of the boys.

She admitted she "could be a flirt" and should have avoided compromising situations with her pupils.

The Ontario college's accusations against her include abusing students "physically, sexually, verbally, psychologically or emotionally".

She is also alleged to have failed to maintain the standards of the profession, improperly disclosed information about a student and behaved in a way that could be viewed as "disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional".

The disciplinary hearing will be held on April 30.

Gehring has never taught in Ontario, but the college suspended her certificate in late February, citing concerns about pupil safety following the British cases.

Head teachers in the UK have since demanded tougher laws to control employment of supply teachers. They are anxious to close the loop-holes that allowed Gehring - from supply agency TimePlan - to get a job, despite previous allegations.

A police inquiry into her behaviour at her first school in Surrey concluded that she was a "risk" to children. Despite this, she was allowed to work at a second school, where it was claimed she had sex with the two brothers.
