MISS LINES UP TOP ROLE
TOM RYANA TEACHER with a good memory for lines has come to the rescue of a drama group in distress.
The La Touche Players Dublin were set to stage Brian Friel's play The Faith Healer when their leading lady had to leave the show due to work commitments.
"This meant the show would have had to be cancelled," said teacher and amateur actress Margaret McCormack Purcell, of Littleton, Co Tipperary.
She had played Grace in The Faith Healer a few years ago with Thurles Drama Group - and remarkably she still remembered the lines.
So when La Touche Players asked school teacher Margaret if she could take over in Dublin, Margaret obliged and the show went on in the best tradition of the theatre.
