Football: LIONS ARE DION NICELY NOW
STEVE GRIFFITHSMILLWALL manager Mark McGhee backed Dion Dublin to bag the Lions a play-off place after his dream debut.
Dublin was brought in on loan from Aston Villa until the end of the season - as McGhee searched for a way to end Millwall's recent miserable run.
But Dublin steadied the ship as he scored one and made another against relegated Stockport.
The former England striker opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a fierce drive from 10 yards from Paul Ifill's pass.
Then, in the 80th minute, his header from Christophe Kinet's cross was somehow kept out by Stockport keeper Andy Dibble but Stuart Nethercott lashed home the rebound.
Tricky winger Ifill put the icing on the cake three minutes from time when he cut in from the left and curled a stunning effort past Dibble from 25 yards.
