The new $30-million Lodge at Cedar Creek Resort and Waterpark features 140 family-sized suites and a 50,000-square-foot indoor water recreation area. Located near Wausau, the resort is within driving distance of Milwaukee, Chicago, and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

As guests arrive in the lobby, they travel back in time to a rustic logging town, complete with cobblestone streets, lantern light posts, and a working water wheel. This distinctive log-mill theme is carried throughout the resort, including the Saw Mill Grill restaurant and Buzz Saw bar, as well as the guest suites and water park.

The water park's "Powder Keg Puddle" has slides and spraying water toys for young children, and the "Rapid Rock River" lazy river gently flows around wildlife scenes. The park's signature attraction is a water-dumping treehouse large enough to accommodate more than 200 kids.
