Boise loves seniors
Pat WoodsBoise, Idaho, welcomes the 50-plus crowd with a bevy of discounts enabling seniors and their grandkids to have fun affordably. Of 24 major attractions listed in the Boise Visitor Guide, 13 offer senior discounts and five are bee or accept donations. The Boise Tour Train provides a fascinating orientation and background on early gold seekers and pioneer families. A great place for grandkids is the World Center for Birds of Prey. In addition to seeing live falcons, eagles, and California condors, youngsters can enjoy interactive and multimedia displays. Knowledgeable docents discuss conservation, answer questions, and explain raptor nesting habits. World War II buffs won't want to miss the Warhawk Air Museum in nearby Nampa. For outdoor lovers, Boise boasts a 25-mile Greenbelt that follows the river and abounds with pretty parks. America West and 10 other airlines offer service to Boise's spiffy new airport.
