SPECIAL TO THE CAPITAL-JOURNAL
Nathan Ham, owner of Nathan Ham Photography, said his studio is adapting to changing technology and now is 95 percent digital. Ham was voted Best Photographer.
What can customers expect from you in the coming year?
The refining of our product has allowed us to offer much better customer service to our clients.
Tell us about your customer base?
I seem to have customers who like the uniqueness of our photography. Their biggest interest is in the props we use.
What obstacles do you see your business facing in the future?
The uniqueness of electronics changing the industry. The evolution of the industry brings some problems with it. There is a learning curve with electronics. People are always introducing new software or products which I have to learn to use.
What can the city do to alleviate some of those concerns or facilitate your efforts?
We've been a part of the revitalization of North Topeka. Because we have given back to the city, we would like to see the city bring in more people. A percentage of those people would use our service.
Can you share the secret of your success with our readers?
It's a combination of everything. It's being able to work hard. I compare my business to sports. Do you want to tie the game or win? It's as simple as that.
Why do you like doing business in Topeka?
I grew up in Topeka. After going away to Butler County Community College and the University of New Mexico, I came back.
