What did you, friends, family do for spring break?

Angela Mabey, Lisa Christensen

Recently, Pulse reporters asked their fellow students, "What did you do over spring break and would you do it differently next year?" Here are the replies:

"I procrastinated my homework, and I'd like to do that differently next year." -- Andrew Wade Shepherd, sophomore, Copper Hills High School

"For spring break, I went to my cousins' house in Draper. I would probably go somewhere else for spring break next year." -- Eric Hales, sophomore, Grantsville High School

"I went down to St. George and I played golf, and I wouldn't do anything different next year because it was fun and the time went by faster than when I am home." -- Jeffrey Rees, sophomore, Cottonwood High School

"I worked a whole, whole lot and tied two quilts. I would definitely do it differently next year." -- Samantha Trammell, junior, Copper Hills

"I practiced really hard on a piece by Bach because I had AIM (a large national music performance and theory test) coming up the next weekend, and it was really bad. My English teacher also assigned this big Shakespeare project the day before the break started, so I was working on that, too. And it was Holy Week -- you know, Good Friday, Easter Sunday -- so I was at the church a lot. Next year, I probably wouldn't do anything different except hopefully not have Holy Week the same week as spring break, so I could have more free time. And so I could sleep more." -- Tyler Boegler, freshman, Grantsville

"I went to Oahu with my family, and next year I would want to go with friends." -- Nicolee Serdar, sophomore, Cottonwood

"Spring break I went camping down by Price, and it was really rainy, but it was fun because we went four-wheeling and got dirty and then we went paintballing. I think the only different thing would be is to make sure I have certain upgrades to my paintball gun and to have a longer break." -- Chris Diepeveen, junior, Copper Hills

"I skateboarded. No, I would probably skate next year, too. The thing I would do different though is skate more." -- Mitch Broadhead, junior, Copper Hills

"During my spring break, I worked at a rodeo, decorated for prom and went to the hospital a lot because my grandma's in a coma. Basically, I'd do everything different." -- Amanda Mair, junior, Grantsville

"For spring break I went to Santa Clarita, Calif., and Six Flags; then we went to Santa Monica Beach. I was on a road trip with five of my friends, and if I could do it differently next year, I would probably fly. But I would go to the same place." -- J.D. Sheppard, senior, Cottonwood

Angela Mabey is a senior at Cottonwood High School; Lisa Christensen is a junior at Grantsville High School; Cindy Washburn is a junior at Copper Hills High School. If you are going to be a junior at a Utah high school next year and would like to write for Pulse, please send an e-mail to pulse@desnews.com or write to Susan Whitney, c/o the Deseret Morning News.
