LIVERPOOL'S Colin Dunne retained his WBU lightweight title with a controversial points win over South African Martin Jacobs at the Goresbrook Leisure Centre, Dagenham last night.

Dunne was given verdict 114-113, 112-115 and 114-113 after being floored in the opening round and being rocked several times.

Dunne admitted: "Jacobs was very strong and he forced the pace, normally it's the other way round," admitted Dunne.

"But I took that little step back like I can do, like I did against Billy Schwer, and I thought I landed the more telling shots at the end of the day."
