Your letters: Consignia deliver a slap in the face
Mrs J. ClarkeI WAS furious when I read that Consignia bosses could still afford to spend pounds 20,000 on a Christmas party after threatening to axe 30,000 jobs.
Obviously these cuts were looming for some time yet my husband, after passing an assessment to be a postman, waited six months before finally being turned down.
Of course there was never going to be a job and I wonder if these people at Consignia realise what it's like to be treated in this way.
When you are unemployed all you get is a Job Seeker's Allowance of pounds 52 a week and that's supposed to feed you for a week. I hope that they enjoyed their pounds 50-a-head meal.
