IT has been suggested that couples who live together but don't want to get married because "it's just a piece of paper" should be able to register the fact that they're a couple so they receive all the financial benefits of married life. Presumably, once they register they will receive a "piece of paper" to prove their relationship and when they break up they will de-register, ie divorce. What a brilliant idea!
