Tips from the Food Network:

-- Wrap, label and date all items before placing them in the freezer. When it comes to freezing, broth soups, stews and non cream- based sauces do better than raw fish, creamy soups or delicate vegetables.

-- Seasonings are comfort food tools that you can put to use in a myriad of ways. Adding soy sauces, dried mushrooms or orange zest is a great way to heighten the flavors of stews and salads. Fresh herbs and grated cheeses highlight the flavors of soups and nibbles.
