N.O. events gravitate toward Albuquerque
Two recycling industry events that had been scheduled to take place in New Orleans in early 2006 have shifted to Albuquerque, N.M.
The U.S. Composting Council (USCC) has moved its 14th Annual Conference and Tradeshow to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Albuquerque. The show will take place at that venue from Jan. 22-25. It was originally scheduled to take place in New Orleans on those same dates.
Relocating the conference to Albuquerque on the same dates allows the USCC to keep the entire program intact, including the same pre-conference workshops and training seminars on Jan. 22, says Executive Director Stuart Buckner.
The program's speaker roster for Jan. 23-24 also stays intact, as do the equipment demonstrations set for Jan. 25, now taking place at a composting facility in Albuquerque.
Conference registration forms, the complete schedule and other information is available at the USCC Web site at www. compostingcouncil.org.
The next month, a Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) event that had been slated for New Orleans has also been moved to Albuquerque.
"Taking Recycling to a Whole New Level: Targeting Special Waste, Institutional, and Commercial Waste Streams" is being presented by SWANA in Albuquerque from Feb. 14-16. It is also taking place at the Hyatt Regency property.
SWANA's annual flagship conference, WasteCon, will be taking place Sept. 18-21, 2006 in Charlotte, N.C.
