Remembering - IFBB World Report - Brief Article

One of the most famous athletes in Egyptian history was El Sayed Nosseir, world weightlifting champion and a key player in Egypt's inclusion in the IFBB. Nosseir was riding high in 1947 when he organized a special party in honor of Ben Weider at the foot of the pyramids. The friendship between these two men paved the way for the development of bodybuilding not only in Egypt, but throughout the Arab world. The merrymakers in this historic photograph are (from left) Mohammed El-Guindy, himself a former world weightlifting champion; Ben's lovely wife, Huguette; an unidentified and yet significant member of the Egyptian Olympic Committee; Ben Weider; El Sayed Nosseir; another unidentified EOC member of note; and Mohammed Hefzi, a former bodybuilding champion and currently one of Egypt's top journalists.
