Quaker's pouch pack gives clubstore shoppers value and convenience

The Quaker Oats Co. once again sheds the box from the traditional bag-in-box cereal package, and this time for an upscale, premium brand.

The new Quaker 100% Natural Granola Dual Pack is now available in warehouse clubstores on the West Coast and in select East Coast locations. The new package consists of two 30-ounce stand-up pouches joined together at the top and is created on a separate module added to the end of horizontal form-fill-seal equipment from Profile Packaging. A 2-inch bottom gusset creates a wide base that keeps the pouches stable on the store shelf or at home, in a cabinet. A sturdy carrying handle--die-cut through both pouches--helps consumers easily manage the hefty product.

Zipper devices from Minigrip/ Zip-Pak add the convenience of resealability that consumers desire, as well as help maintain product freshness. A company representative explains how, with this new package, "Consumers can now keep more great-tasting Quaker 100% Natural Granola on hand at all times."

The high-gloss polyester pouches are flexographically printed in eight colors in a color scheme and style consistent with the previous bag-in-box package.
