New large-capacity weigher provides powerful controlled product flow

New Ishida large-capacity weigher is engineered to package food-service-size quantities of fresh and frozen foods fast and accurately. Strong vibratory drives provide powerful and controlled product flow from the infeed to the weigh stations, distributing foods like french fries and vegetables, fresh produce and salad mixes, poultry, meat, seafood and others at rates that maximize production speed and efficiency. The bulk weigher's 7,000 cubic centimeter hoppers are large enough to accommodate bigger product pieces and prevent product bridging. The hoppers feature a spring-less and link-less design that simplifies cleaning and maintenance. All hoppers are completely interchangeable and can be easily removed, cleaned and replaced--while the weigher is in operation--without stalling production. Antivibration load cell technology and optional waterproof construction to IP-66 international standards provides weighing accuracy in harsh packing environments.

Easy-to-use form-fill-sealer uses sophisticated electronics for accuracy and reliability

Built for ease of use and reliability, the new ARTY80V vertical form-fill-sealer features PLC control of all functions, a frequency inverter and a three-phase motor to ensure accurate bag lengths and eliminate mechanical shocks, as well as a user-friendly digital interface that stores up to 99 different program set-up menus. Polyurethane, self-centering side pulling belts are standard. Strong seals are achieved by lever operated sealing jaws. ARTY80V packages liquids or dry products and works well with single or multiple linear scales, combination scales, liquid fillers, volumetric or auger fillers and other special fillers. A separate control panel mounted on an articulated arm makes data on machine status and operation readily accessible. A stainless steel version is available, as well as numerous attachments such as square bottom bags, gussets, heated hole punch, print registration and printing devices for bar codes and/or expiration dates.

Continuous-motion vertical bagger minimizes maintenance while still offering flexibility

The continuous-motion Advantage CM vertical form-fill-seal system introduces flexibility to packagers by making all package styles, running all films and forming an array of bag sizes from 2.5 x 6 to 15.5 x 24 inches. Advantage CM boasts exclusive features that minimize care and wear: cross seal jaw drive wear and maintenance are minimized through the use of torsional couplings; the unique back sealer is both belt-less and drag-less, with lie moving parts and is independent of the film and jaw velocities; and the cutoff knife has no moving parts. AK much as 70% of the continuous cycle is devoted to sealing to optimize seal integrity. The cycle also draws film slowly to eliminate stretch. Set-up is fully automated by the Selectech 32 computer control. Changes in package lengths require simply entering the new values on a touchscreen. An instant electronic service call named SelectechOnLine links customer's machines with factory engineers at their computers for remote, real-time diagnostics, fine tuning, training and the like.

New vertical f-f-s packager combines low drop height with large bag size

Speed: 70 strokes per minute

Featuring a low drop height of 24 inches and exclusive Constant Temperature Adjustment (CTA) sealing system, the new Hachmang HP25000 vertical form-fill-sealer is built for ease of use and low maintenance. Bag dimensions are variable from 1 5/8 x 4 to 10 x 11 3/4 inches, with bag speeds up to 70 spm (speed depends on bag size). HP25000 offers quiet reliable operation, low energy consumption and continuously adjustable bag length capability. CTA, an accurate electronic temperature measurement device with rapid feedback, ensures a uniform temperature along the entire length of the sealing wire under all circumstances. For packaging series of small- and medium-sized products into various bag sizes, the HP25000 incorporates interchangeable size modules consisting of a shaping shoulder, shaping tube and feed funnel which can be substituted without tools. An optional automatic header card attacher staples or heat seals a header card to the bag directly from the machine. Bag clip systems and infeed or take-away conveyors are also available.

New statistical weigher/bagger uses Windows-based interface for simplified operation and maintenance

Speed: more than 100 bags per minute

New Spectra computer-controlled combination weigher works with the Quaser[R]. bagger to perform high-speed product transfer using optimized discharge angles to package snacks and other foods at speeds in excess of 100 bags per minute with less than 1% waste. According to the manufacturer, this is the first weigher/bagger system to offer advanced on-line self-diagnostics, maintenance instruction and auto-timing through a PC-compatible, Windows-based man/machine interface. A new scale/hopper design promotes high-speed charge transfer with minimum string-out. Weigher features stain gauge load cells and digital vibration filtering, which improve weigher speed and accuracy. Made of FDA-approved plastic, the product hoppers have a low coefficient-of-friction surface which is easily cleaned and abrasion resistant to maximize line efficiency.

Intermittent-motion form-fill-sealer also counts and transfers pouches into stacks or cartons

Speed: 70 strokes per minute

New intermittent-motion MS235 vertical form-fill-sealer fills sachets/pouches with powders, granulates, tablets, liquids and creamy products at 70 strokes per minute on a usuable 400 millimeter web. The machine counts and transfers pouches into pre-defined stacks and cartons. Fully enclosed, the MS235 protects mechanical parts and features safety guards with stainless steel frames to promote operator safety in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. A ProSystem microprocessor monitors operations and a swiveling control panel mounted at eye level displays functions and faults in English. MS235 is equipped with easy splicing features and a double-shaft driven feed system to speed reel replacements.

New vertical form-fill-sealer is compact, simple and inexpensive

Footprint: 2 x 4 feet

New Vertek form-fill-sealer is compact, inexpensive and simple to use. All operating parameters are stored in memory and displayed on an LCD screen. Temperature, film length, film registration cut-off plus dwell time and belt speeds can be recalled instantly. Versatile, the Vertek handles foods, mixes, powders and granular products. See-through door panels permit visual inspection as the machine cycles. Operator guess-work is minimized; set-ups, changeovers and training are quick and easy. The system accommodates polyethylene and laminates on economical rollstock. The form-fill-sealer's stationary width sealing jaws have separate thermocouples to allow constant, individual temperature control. It serves a mid-speed range of 40 to 70 packages per minute and produces neat, strong, fin-seal packages sized from 2 x 2 to 7.65 x 12 inches.
