Jennifer BillingsLight-refractive metallized paper creates a dimensional, halographic appearance on beverage labels
CTH[TM] metallized paper has a light-refractive, dimensional appearance to create a holographic appearance. This cost-effective paper is especially appropriate for new and exciting products in the decorative, labeling, commercial printing and flexible packaging industries. CTH is available on the company's semi-wet strength paper grades, used extensively in the beverage label market. CTH offers breathability, fast wash off and a wide lay-flat moisture range. Its superior wet-strength makes the labeling process more efficient and results exceptionally effective final product. Available in both web feed and sheet fed form. CTH offers excellent printability and graphic reproduction, using either gravure, flexographic or lithographic processes. The continuous, overlapping pattern is totally free of any seams or repeats, enabling the product to accommodate all artwork designs.

Hazy clear label facestock "disappears" to match variety of container finishes
New Radiance[TM] all-purpose hazy clear pressure-sensitive film stock showcases today's range of colored containers used in personal care product applications. Radiance exhibits a hazy clear finish that has a forgiving gloss level and clarity to complement all types of containers: clear, translucent, opaque and pearlescent. It can brighten, soften and seem to "disappear"--depending on the color of the substrate--to exactly match the finish. Radiance prints all processes to deliver photo-quality images, plus high-impact screen, metallic and foil graphics. The 3-millimeter facestock is engineered with PC series acrylic emulsion adhesives and a choice of liners: 44PP and 3.2 SCK liners standard or 1.5 PET on a custom basis. Applications include upscale hair care, skin care and bath and body personal care products. It fits all types of containers, from squeezeable to rigid.

Labeling system creates a multi-color graphics presentation for syrups
Developed exclusively for the maple syrup industry, new Sap Wrap[TM] labeling system combines adhesive, facestock and coating to allow marketers to enhance their messages using up to seven colors. Previously, silkscreening was the only option, resulting in many one- and two-color presentations to consumers. The result of the new system is an outstanding graphics presentation which attracts consumer interest, plus the elimination of scuffing during handling and transportation. Labels are available in sizes for half pint, pint, quart and half-gallon jugs.

Polypropylene thermoforming resin maintains stiffness and impact resistance for refrigerated products
New polypropylene (PP) resin grade Pro-fax SC-204 eliminates the need for thermoformers to blend two different polymer types at the extruder to achieve similar processing performance. Pro-fax SC-204 enhances container properties and performance. Ideal for non-clarified applications such as dairy containers, yogurt cups, margarine tubes and deli containers, the resin provides the stiffness and impact resistance necessary for refrigerated packages. Containers thermoformed with SC-204 resin weigh approximately 30% less than traditional injection molded alternatives.

Water-based acrylic tape unwinds smoothly and quietly; will not discolor or darken graphics
New Silent Supreme[TM] water-based acrylic tape unwinds smoothly to maintain workplace tranquillity. This high-quality case sealing tape comes in 1.8 millimeter clear and tan versions. The clear version of this heat-, cold- and ultraviolet-resistant acrylic tape is ideal for sealing packages where graphics must not appear discolored and "darkening" of the tape implies a package's contents are old or stale.

HDPE injection-molding resin provides extra impact strength
New HiD9004 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) injection-molding resin has enhanced temperature impact strength. Designed primarily for use in producing 5 and 7 gallon pails and lids, HiD9004 is ideal for molders supplying pails that must meet stringent UN specifications. HiD9004 has a nominal melt index of 435 grams per 10 minutes and nominal density of 0.953 grams per cubic centimeter. It is recommended for applications where extra impact strength and environmental stress crack resistance are needed.

Medical packaging film offers greater package strength with less weight
New ShieLLD[TM] linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) film offers medical device manufacturers greater package strength with less weight. According to the manufacturer, when produced at a 3 millimeter gauge, ShieLLD demonstrates 150% more impact strength than conventional 4 millimeter LLDPE film. At 4mm, ShieLLD impact strength is 238% more than other types of 4 mm LLDPE with a 250% greater tear strength. The ability to go from a 4mm conventional LLDPE to the ShieLLD 3 mm means less material is used per package while tear strength and impact strength is increased. This downgauging of the film contributes to overall packaging source reduction and lower freight costs. The strength and durability of the film makes it ideal in header bag packaging for large, bulky devices or heavy trays containing a variety of supplies and instrumentation. The bag design offers an excellent method for aseptic delivery to the sterile field.
