New automatic case sealer secures all four outer edges to better protect contents and deter pilfering

Speed: up to 6 cases per minute The automatic CP 822 case sealer eliminates costly hand taping all four outer edges of a case to deter pilfering and better protect products from the environment. The random case sealer uses automatic height and width sensors to handle a variety of case sizes. Even application of pressure-sensitive tape on all four edges is ensured with the unit's 90-degree case turner and patented brushing system. The CP 822 case sealer comes equipped with four easily removable tape heads and a low-tape sensor that alerts an operator before the tape runs out.

Servo-controlled rejection device gently removes full or empty containers without tipping or spilling

Compatible with this manufacturer's inspection systems, the new Servotec rejection device uses a digital servo-controlled pneumatic actuator to gently and consistently remove full or empty containers from the line without tipping or spilling. A single actuator makes full body contact with the containers being removed to assure a more stable rejection of containers with various fill levels. Servotec handles all container types and sizes without change parts or adjustments and operates from a full stop up to 1,200 containers per minute with no degradation in reject capability. Containers that are touching--with no staggering or back pressure--can be rejected on a continuous basis without jamming the line. Compact unit measures 6 x 9 inches for easy installation.

New dual-fill pouch machine operates at speeds in excess of 4,000 inches per minute

Speed: 900+ pouches per minute New continuous-motion horizontal pouch machine creates pouches in two different widths and filled with two different products at speeds in excess of 4,000 inches per minute, depending on the products being filled. According to the manufacturer, this speed is five times faster than previous machines made for asymmetric perforated pouch pairs. Pouches as wide as 6 1/2 inches can be paired with pouches as narrow as 2 1/2 inches. Possible applications for asymmetrical pouch filling include "portable pairs" such as croutons and blended dried soups; bacon bits and blended dry salad dressing mixes; microwavable french fried potatoes and blended cheese powders; dry pudding and sprinkles; popcorn and flavoring; and much more. Packagers can realize material savings on the lower volume product, as well as ensure customer satisfaction by selling pouches that look properly filled.
