GEORGE HARRISON'S widow Olivia was under investigation in California last night following claims that an incorrect entry was made on his death certificate.

The probe was ordered by the state registrar after it was revealed that the address given as the place the former Beatle died does not exist.

The death certificate states he passed away at 1971 Coldwater Canyon, Beverly Hills, and that the owner of the property is Olivia. But the Los Angeles land registrar has no matching record. It is an offence to knowingly provide inaccurate information.

It was thought that 58-year-old Harrison died from cancer at the home of his friend Gavin de Becker in Beverly Hills. De Becker refused to comment on the mystery yesterday.

Fans speculated that Harrison's American widow and their son Dhani, 24, may have given a fictitious address because they feared a media circus outside the legendary star's last resting place.
