Youth Week Stresses Goal Setting
LEAD STORY
"Want It, Save It, Get It" is the theme for this year's fourth annual National Credit Union Youth Week, April 17-23.
It emphasizes the connection between goal setting and saving to a young consumer group that already controls billions of dollars in economic activity yet lacks fundamental financial information.
Youth Week provides a focal point for teaching the benefits of saving and goal setting.
Credit unions can take this opportunity to invite young people to open savings accounts and make deposits at their credit union during that week and throughout the year.
Visit cuna.org, click on "Youth Education" and then "National Credit Union Youth Week" for educational and promotional materials and a free planning resource.
The site includes suggestions on how to celebrate Youth Week, credit union success stories, and press releases to promote the annual event.
