I was thrilled to see the news item, "Bowling Participation on the Rise in 2000" [October 2001]. I am happy to see that more and more parents are involving themselves and their children in the wonderful sport of bowling! It's a shame that more high schools don't petition for bowling to become a sanctioned sport. The numbers of people who don't realize that scholarship monies for continued education exists for award scores and high school bowling is disturbing.
