Heard but not seen - The Fans Speak Out - Letter to the Editor
John FrancisAs a frequent reader of BOWLING DIGEST, I am very upset with the "PO'd" letter ["The Fans Speak Out," April 2002]. For one thing, the letter is anonymous, signed "Tired of Bowling Politics." You very explicitly state that name, city, and state must be included if a letter is to be considered for submission. Since when is BOWLING DIGEST a venue for people to take potshots at others while hiding behind a veil of anonymity? Secondly, the letter that was sent is just plain incorrect. This letter states that four of the eight members of Team USA 2002, chosen at the Amateur Championships, attend Nebraska--including all three of the selections by the committee. In reality, three members of the team go to Nebraska, but two of them earned their spots by bowling their way on.

BOWLING DIGEST truly regrets the lapse in judgement and the appropriate wrists and foreheads have been slapped.
