Weekly Price Watch: Graphics Cards

With the launch on Monday of nVidia's highly anticipated GeForceFX, we expect some movement in this market over the coming months. With a target price of around $400, it will certainly become the price king, at least for a while. While nVIDIA's much touted card, the GeForce FX has been released to early press reviews, it has yet to find its way into the markets. The nVIDIA GeForceFX 5800 Ultra will be priced at $399 while the price for nVIDIA GeForceFX 5800 has not yet been priced. Until they arrive, ATI will most likely remain the high price leader.

The All In Wonder 9700 Pro AGP had the highest spot price of $369. ATI Technologies RADEON 9700 Pro which had a high spot price of $318 and also seemed to be the highest rated graphics card of choice by users in the high-end category. In comparison, ATI Technologies RADEON 9700 Pro Add in Board (FIC) had a spot price of $295. The lowest spot price for this week was occupied by the eVGA TNT2 (32MB AGP 4X) with a spot price of $30.50.

It remains to be seen whether nVIDIA's bid to dethrone ATI's popular RADEON 9700 Pro is successful or not. Check back with us next week as we follow the prices on both these cards.
